Newport Shopping Spree Giveaway

Introduction

By participating in the “WIN a $1,000 Newport Shopping Spree” competition you are agreeing to these competition terms and conditions. The competition is run by Newport Traders Association (owners of the Visit Newport website), PO Box 1003, Newport Vic 3015, Australia. 

Eligibility to Enter

The competition is open to entrants over 18 years of age who live in Metropolitan Melbourne, Australia. Newport business owners and their families are excluded from the draw. By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and that you are eligible to receive any prizes that may be awarded to you.

Entry Requirements

Competition entry is via the Visit Newport Website: www.visitnewport.com.au (either the website popup or newsletter sign up footer form). Entry is free and no purchase is required.

Additional entries, however, are awarded for purchases made at participating traders within the current 3-month competition timeframe. To receive additional entries, shoppers can upload their receipts here. The purchase date must be after your initial entry into the competition via the newsletter subscription form.

By entering the competition, entrants agree to receive promotional email marketing communications from Newport Traders Association (“Visit Newport”). The winners’ full name and suburb of residence will be requested for publishing on the Visit Newport Facebook and Instagram accounts to announce their prize.

The Prize

The winning prize is $1,000 in gift vouchers redeemable at participating Newport businesses. There are a total of FOUR $1,000 prizes to be won over the course of the competition.  

Winners are unable to choose which businesses they receive gift vouchers for - vouchers will be predetermined by Newport Traders Association at the time of issuing to ensure the maximum numbers of traders financially benefit from the competition.

Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Vouchers are non-exchangeable and no cash alternatives will be provided. Winners are able to share the vouchers with family and friends, or give them away in local community groups if they will not use the voucher before expiry.

Newport Traders Association reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control require doing so.

Newport Traders Association's decision on any aspect of the competition is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

Winner Announcement

The 4 x winners (1 per quarter/every 3 months) will be chosen at random on the following dates and notified via the email provided upon entering:

  • Thursday, 6 November 2025 (90 days from competition start March 9, 2023)

  • Wednesday, 4 February 2026 (90 days after first prize awarded)

  • Tuesday, 5 May 2026 (90 days after second prize awarded)

  • Monday, 3 August 2026 (90 days after third prize awarded)

Newport Traders Association will make one attempt to contact the winner via email. If the winner does not respond within 7 days, they forfeit their right to the prize, and Newport Traders Association reserves the right to select and notify a new winner.

Newport Traders Association cannot be held responsible if the email/s notifying them of their prize are delivered to the winner’s junk mail - please check your junk mail regularly and add info@visitnewport.com.au to your safe senders list.

Delivery of the Prize

Winners must collect their gift vouchers in-person from Wilde Interiors at 31 Challis Street, Newport.

Data Protection and Publicity

You agree that any personal information that you provide when entering the competition will be used by Newport Traders Association for the purposes of administering the competition and for occasional email marketing highlighting Newport news, events and special offers from our traders. 

The winner's first name, last name and suburb of residence will be announced on the Visit Newport website and social media channels.

Limitation of Liability

Newport Traders Association accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of participating in the competition or being selected for a prize.

General

Newport Traders Association reserves the right, at any time and without prior notice, to cancel the competition or amend these terms and conditions.
