Our journey began with a successful coffee shop in Altona, where we built a loyal clientele who cherished our personal service and quality offerings. Although our customers were disappointed when we transitioned from the coffee shop to focus on catering, their continued support has inspired us. We remain dedicated to serving the community with the same personal touch that made our coffee shop a beloved local fixture.
Our new venture, The Wee Kitchen, based inside the Newport Bowls Club, allows us to elevate our diverse culinary offerings. We specialise in creating an array of premium foods, including canapés, entrées, main courses, packaged foods and desserts, all meticulously prepared to order by our team of expert chefs and professional service staff.
Whether you crave the hearty flavours of Irish and Scottish fare, the vibrant spices of Tex-Mex and Indian dishes, the classic comfort of Italian and Chinese cuisine, or the robust taste of Australian BBQ and smoked meats, we cater to all preferences. Our bistro is open for dinner from Thursday to Saturday at the Newport Bowls Club.

Thirsty Camel has become one of Australia’s most recognised independent retail brands; they’re the loveable maverick of the liquor world, and proud of it.
The last thing they want to be is an average bottle shop. Sure, they might take what they do seriously, stocking all your favourite brands, but never at the expense of having a bit of fun. Camel tongue firmly in cheek, they love a laugh at life, at themselves, and at this crazy world.
Their aim is to make your life easier by taking the hard work out of finding, choosing, and buying drinks. They understand that life is busy, and often way too serious, so when you’re on-the-go, you can rely on Thirsty Camel to have what you’re looking for, without fuss, at a good price, and with a wink and a smile.

Edwards Family Meats are the only traditional butchers in Newport and we know how to cater to the local community's needs.
The Mason Street butcher has been operating since before the Great Depression and we are proud to continue that tradition as Edwards Family Meats.
John Edwards has over forty years experience in butchery and for the past fifteen years has been managing the shop, then named Eddie the Butcher.
Since February 2021 John and his family have rebranded and modernised the store, offering different cuts and new products while maintaining the shop’s reputation for award-winning small goods made on site.
